Speed up Windows 7 Boot Up

Here is a quick little trick to take advantage of the multiple cores of your machine while running Windows 7:

1. Press Win + R to open “Run” dialog window.
2. Type MSConfig into the text box after “Open”.
3. Go to Boot tab.
4. For dual-boot or multi-boot system, make sure that the operating system to make the change is selected.
5. Click on Advanced options button.
6. Tick the check box for Number of processors, and then select the maximum number count of CPU core processors value from the drop down list.
7. Click OK twice to exit System Configuration.
8. Restart computer.

After about a hour of tinkering I now have Compiz set up to my liking. If you happen to have read my previous (and very old) post about running Compiz on my Presario, I did it much the same. Actually, aside from not having to tinker with the install, it is the same. Ha.

After doing this I just HAD to post this guide. Using this I now do not have to worry about installing plug-in or syncing favorites between Windows and Ubuntu! The guide itself is a little old, but it works perfectly.
