Humira – It’s a go

24/03/2011

Well, today was the day. I stared with the Humira injections. I got 4 of them today as the starter dose. Two in the stomach and two in the thighs. Sucked doing, as I hate needles…The injector is kind of like a pen device, not a traditiknal needle/syringe. Pretty much place it against the skin with a little pressure, press the button, and count to ten as it injects. Hurts more than a normal shot, but easier to do as I never actually see the needle.

Now the waiting game begins. Some people have noticed a difference within a week…others it can take 3 doses, which is 6 weeks (a dose every other week is my regiment).

Wish me luck…since if this doesn’t work I may have to get something chopped out…last thing I want to happen.

Blood+

11/03/2011

Well, after a few days of being home on medical leave from work I managed to catch up on the Bleach episodes that are on Hulu. Afterwards I got really bored…and now while I wait for some more Bleach I have been watching Blood+. Its not a bad show, the fight scenes are kind of basic, but the story line at least has kept my attentions threw the first 5 episodes.

If anyone (like anyone reads this) happens to have a recommendation for me on something to watch, please feel free to toss me a comment or something…I have like a month to go before I can (if all goes well) go back to work…

Randomish update on me

7/03/2011

Well, to be honest, the main reason I am posting this is because I just want to get things written down. I have noticed in the past if I write something it helps me relax and clear my mind…So, here goes.

The first update, I am no longer on Remicade. That was the infusion based drug that was suppose to be the awesome cure for my Crohn’s disease. Worked for a little bit, but my body decided to be all hard core and build a immunity to the drug…wtf.

Second thing…being sick sucks. Right now I am on imuran…again. Its a immune suppressant that is suppose to slowly build up in my system and stop my immune system from doing what it is doing. I was on it last year before we tried the Remicade. I was only on it for about 2 months, and noticed no difference whatsoever. I guess this drug can take up to 3 months to build in one’s system, and see if it will help. The thing is…its been 9 months of being sick, trying medicines, and whatnot…I don’t want to wait another 3 just to see if a medicine is going to work.

There has been talk of another medicine, called Humira. Its a self injected medicine…We will see what happens there in the future.

Oh, and one more thing. I have decided, with the pushing of my doctor, to take a medical leave from work. So, for the next 4 weeks I will be bored as hell…But then again, this is a good thing. To be honest I am almost more of a hindrance at work…Cant work more than 20 hours…can’t work long shifts…cant lift heavy stuff…and so on. So at least now they don’t have to worry about me…

Well…I feel better…there are other things I may type up later, but for n0t this helps greatly.

Remicade: 1 Week

5/11/2010

So, its been a week and a day since my first infusion of the drug Remicade. For those that may not know, I have Crohn’s disease, and for the last few months it has been a rather bad fight with it. Have lost a lot of weight, muscle, and have become anemic. I have been through several different pills these last few months, and it was finally decided that I should be put on Remicade.

At first I didn’t think it was making much of a difference, and since the doctor had told me that for some people it may take up to the third infusion to notice a difference I was not worried. But right now I can honestly say I have noticed a difference. It isn’t major, just a little bit of a difference in the way my body has been feeling, my bowel movements are easier, and such.

I am pretty happy about this. Actually, I am ecstatic. I can, and want to go out with friends. I don’t feel like sleeping my days away.

I have another infusion in a week. Plan on taking my PSP and gaming it up, and hoping for the best.

Godaddy Hosting Now

21/09/2009

godaddy-girl-candice-michelleToday I logged into my WordPress based blog for the first time in what seems like forever, to find that the Godaddy banner on top had killed not only my sites layout, but my Admin Control Panel (ACP).So, me being the fixer-upper that I am I went and spend approximately $4 (little less because of a 10% promo code) and n ot only killed the Banner Ad, but aloud me to use Java on the site as well. This makes me very happy, as parts of my ACP  have been malfunctioning because of this.

So, lets hope this works out for the best. I will really regret the $4 spent is Godaddy decides to fuck something up.

P.S. Expect alot more updates on this site, if anyone happens to read it…seeing as I am spending money every month, might as well get my moneys worth!
